Position Summary


The Shipping & Logistics Supervisor manages the shipping for Bell Int Labs 2 locations. This includes managing staff, orchestrating the staging of shipments, communicating with customers and brokers and reviewing and approving shipping documentation. This person will work closely with customers and designated office administration regarding product problem resolution.

• Supervise employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment at 2 Eagan Locations.

• Responsible for reconciling and correcting errors associated with these activities including but not limited to counts, pallet dimensions, dropship, LTL vs FTL, etc.

• Oversees and/or executes incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments 2 Eagan locations.

• Calculate freight and other transportation charges applicable and recommend appropriate alternatives when necessary.

• Ensures compliance with DOT regulations including the review of daily driver’s log sheets, accident reporting and investigation, drug testing requirements, and transportation equipment maintenance at 2 Eagan locations.

• Directs staging of shipments based on dock appointments at 2 locations

• Posts weight, dimensions and transportation charges where applicable. Prepares bills of lading and packing lists.

• Provides supervision, training, scheduling, and guidance to shipping personnel.

• Ensures the cost effectiveness of the delivery function, including the control of labor utilization – preventing excess hours, downtime and overtime, and efficient usage of transportation related equipment.

• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

• Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out position of shipment.

• Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.

• Monitor shipments and inform sales of changes or delays.

• Investigates and resolves issues that may arise in shipping/receiving.

• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment daily.

• Need to think out of the box and partner with internal staff and customers to get rush shipments out in a timely manner

• Build long-term solutions for economic and timely shipments for current and future manufacturing facilities

• Maintain dock inventory levels through organizing, cleaning and monthly cycle counting.

• Maintains a Job Manual of Department Procedures.

• Requires a completed BA degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Operations Management



• Ability to exert up to 15-40 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and 10 pounds of force constantly in order to lift and move product.

• Ability to balance, reach and grasp while climbing on a step stool and/or ladder.

• Ability to crouch, grasps, and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly.

• Ability to be on feet while performing job responsibilities.

• Ability to sit for long periods of time depending on your position and/or getting up and down through your work shift.



• This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week



• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment

• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in warehouse and logistics, coordination and scheduling or product deliveries and shipments including FTL, LTL and Dropship.

• Experience working with material and information flow systems.

• Strong understanding of inventory and material control processes used in an ERP system.

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Software

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

• Must be a self-starter.
