This position is a key member in the Production team within Bell International Labs. This person will be responsible for set-up/changeover functions to keep production moving efficiently and safely. The Set-Up Technician will troubleshoot machinery/equipment as needed.
***This is a 2nd Shift Position*** Monday - Friday. 2pm - 11pm.
Lead set up and changeover functions within Bell Lab production.
Work on processes to improve production efficiencies and reduce high scrap rates.
Research problems with equipment and tooling and take corrective actions.
Troubleshoot process issues in the manufacturing and consult with maintenance for solutions to the problems.
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Perform daily rounds and checks at each production line. Have a good knowledge of all machines and their functions.
Perform minor maintenance and repairs.
Maintain good communications with Quality Control Department to ensure quality products are produced on your shift and at the start up.
Report problems, needs, and equipment breakdowns to your supervisor so it can be corrected.
Spend adequate time before and after each shift to ensure all information is properly passed onto oncoming shifts.
Follow all safety rules put forth by the company safety policies.
All other duties as assigned by your shift supervisor or management.
Ability to operate equipment and tools used in machinery pre-delivery and set up processes
Ability to assemble machinery components and to follow manufacturer’s instructions
Fundamental knowledge of Tube fillers, multi-head volumetric fillers, pressurized can filling, coders, labelers, and hot filling equipment.
Effectively communicate with all members of organization
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Prioritize tasks and handle multiple priorities
Adapt quickly to changing policies and procedures
Attention to detail and high level of organization and accuracy
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Must have six months to one year as a set up technician or equivalent training
Preferred Education and Experience
Fluent in Spanish is a plus
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment including a respirator, glove and eye protection
Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment where there is exposure to occupational hazards
