Position Summary

The buyer will be responsible for the execution of all procurement actions with component and chemical suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a high level of analytical and financial competency. Must have excellent communication skills to promote a positive and effective working relationship with business partners and internal segments within the organization. He/she will negotiate with vendors for all procurement of all materials (chemicals and packaging) used for manufacturing.

Support planning in all operational aspects of assigned product lines, delivery schedules, performance measurement, and inventory management.

Responsible for developing a network of distributors and suppliers who demonstrate on time deliveries at best price.

Conduct negotiations with suppliers in regards to prices, quality, volume, and lead time.

Collaborate with planning and fulfillment to manage production and delivery schedules to drive continuous supply and inventory level.

Work in conjunction with management to establish and ensure compliance with purchasing policies.

Issue purchase orders with approved vendors for materials, negotiating the best value, and lowest cost of procurement.

Strategically develop new supply sources as required.

Establish and maintain automation of ERP processes.

Support and execute sourcing initiatives.

Maintain and ensure on time delivery from suppliers.

Manage purchase order schedules and update accordingly in ERP software.

Handle large volumes of data in Microsoft Excel.

Support the logistics linking all assigned supply streams.

Have the ability and initiative to interface within the organization while driving solutions.

Monitor inventory levels for assigned finished goods and components.

Resolve MRP exception requirements in support of demand schedules.

Assist in developing procurement strategies that will support company goals and objectives.

Own and resolve any discrepancies with quantity, delivery, cost, and quality.

Participate in company initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvements.


Bachelors degree preferred

At least 3 to 5 years of work experience in material/component procurement/planning in the personal care/cosmetics/OTC environment

Fluency in Microsoft Suite

Demonstrated capabilities in project management, team leadership, and goal achievement

Clear and precise communicator with the ability to interact with people at all levels

Possess an understanding of the manufacturing side of personal care and OTC
